Milan itself still has quite an industrial feel to it, as we drove through the city from the airport there was a mix of architecture; some traditional Italian building with beautiful grid-like windows, but aside to this was a lot of baron landscape and not so beautiful grey buildings. Despite some of the gloomy areas there was plenty of colourful and inspiring sites surrounding us.
We arrived at our apartment, a beautiful old porcelain factory, rows of terracota rooves with leafy outside pagodas. Inside was an eclectic mix of colour in a cleverly designed space. Every wall was vibrantly painted and had a multitude of photographic prints to decorate. It felt like a home, everywhere you looked there was something else to discover.
– one of my favourite finds, a telephone mini diner! Complete with working clock, fairy lights and minature people.
